Monday May 3rd Day 1 Calais-Nurburg 293 miles

It was approaching 08:30 and the excited Rabbit Runners gathered for the tour briefing and to take receipt of the maps and tour pack itinerary at the Ashford International in Kent.

Following the briefing all cars were led away in convoy by the Rabbit (the wrong way up the M20, good start Jon!) to the ferry at Dover for the crossing to Calais.

All aboard, the Rabbit-Runners enjoyed some drinks and light refreshments in the club lounge whilst studying the route and further anticipating the drive ahead.

On French shores the Rabbit-Runners lined up in Calais whilst the Rabbit made its nervous getaway bound for Germany.

Thirty minutes later the Rabbit-Runners leave at two minute intervals en route to their first destination - the infamous Nurburgring in hot pursuit of that Rabbit.

Upon arrival at the Dorint Hotel (on the Start/Finish line of the Nurburgring) three cars had beaten the rabbit - Fish and Rob in the Ferrari 550, Paul and Justin in the BMW M3 and Gary and Matt in the BMW X5.

The rest of the cars arrived within the next twenty minutes except for the Ronart Lightning (no, we had never heard of it either!) which went via Luxembourg and the Mole Valley Noble which went on any road except the one it was meant to be on.

After quick refreshments it was down to the Northern Loop of this relentless and very scary racetrack for a blast.

After a change of attire the Rabbit-Runners settled down for dinner and swapped stories of the day's event over a few drinks.
