Day 3 Wednesday 17th May - Prague to Lake Constance

At breakfast it was obvious that calls from reception to nearly all the rooms was necessary!

We all left at mid-day and due to all the attention in Germany we changed our route to Lake Constance which added around 100 miles and took us on some lovely country roads.

We consciously stayed in convoy for around 150 miles and it made for a hugely enjoyable morning with some breathtaking manouvers taking place against a stunning landscape. It was a fantastic start to the day.

The route took us South from Prague and into Austria and the scenery was immense but the border caused a problem for Matt and Edd and Steve and Andy who did not have their vehicle registration documents, but after a thorough search of the car and a few questions they were allowed to pass.

We stopped at a service station which looked like any other services but when you went in to the dining area the 180 degree view of the lake with the backdrop of snow-capped mountains was amazing. Gerry in the Tuscan S had to make a couple of service stops as the TVR was using as much oil as petrol........great looking car though! The run was good but one or two of us were a bit paranoid so cruised at what proved to be an over-cautious pace.

Our hotel at Lake Constance was on an island in the lake and was very beautiful and peaceful (or it was until we arrived!) After dinner we all enjoyed a few drinks in the very comfortable bar.
