Day 4 Thursday 18th May - Lake Constance to Paris 490 Miles

This was the biggest day from a mileage perspective and it was all to play for from a positions point of view. Due to no points on the previous day we did "double-bubble" on this day

The Swiss border and Switzerland in general were well covered by the police, but this is fairly normal as it is well documented that the Swiss do not like cars!

Once into France the roads were awesome, there were no police at all and we were all able to put the cars through their paces resulting in some serious adrenalin rushes.

The Trans Am had slipped through the borders and avoided any attention so was making good progress, but there were a few cars that were covering a lot of ground fast.

The DB9, AMV8, RS6, Boxster S, two M3’s, 996 turbo and one of the Audi’s were all within five miles of each other and how Paris was navigated would be the key to winning this stage of the event. It all made for a tense, but hugely enjoyable last day. Needless to say, win, lose or draw, everyone was up for a few bevvies that night and it was a great chance to relax, enjoy a sumptious meal and then hit the town. (After the serious business of finding out the final results obviously!)

The positions were so close overall they were recounted twice.

The awards went to:

1st - John and Jon in the Aston Martin DB9

2nd - Greg and Max in the Audi A4 Quattro

3rd - Brett and Chris in the AMV8

The Snail (or Turtle!) - Chris and Paul in the RS Focus

Special Award - Matt and Chas in the Trans Am!
